CALISYM LLC offers commercial analytics and strategic consulting services to biotech and pharmaceutical companies.  CALISYM's principal, Bill Blake, has over 20 years of experience helping companies make better decisions by using data analysis coupled with critical thinking skills.
Bill has expertise with:

  • Launch planning

  • Forecasting

  • Pricing & payer analytics

  • Data warehousing

  • Business development

I have been a hands-on leader of pharmaceutical analytics and marketing since 1994.  My previous experience with ZS Associates, NDC Heath Services, TAP Pharmaceuticals, and Takeda have given me the opportunity to work on a vast number of projects in many therapeutic areas.

In addition to the analytical work, I was able to lead sales operations departments, market research organizations, and an international marketing team.  I am keenly aware of many of the issues those departments face and the need for those teams to seamlessly interact with other departments.

Although I held many leadership roles, I still enjoyed developing and doing a lot of the analysis.  It is my passion.  At Takeda, I was known as the vice president who could still code.  If there is a question that is hard to answer, I am interested.

I typically find that companies with phase 2 or early phase 3 compounds benefit most from my broad skill set.  I can manage the data and complete most commercial analytics needed to forecast and position your product.  I am not staffed to take over monthly data processing once you launch a product, however, I have relationships with other companies that do that work well.

Companies that have on market products typically hire me to complete projects that span several departments. This could be a forecast that brings together the marketing, sales, and managed care teams.  Other project examples include designing analytics teams, building payer bridge files, helping companies assess an optimal discount strategy, and working on  business development projects.
